I am a PC person away from Macs since the old MacPlus days before the Nix versions so it is all "by the book" for me. When upgrading to the new Mac OS, the file system is automatically converted from HFS+ to APFS. A new file system has been introduced with High Sierra called APFS.

I do not know any way to troubleshoot further with Mac. Which versions of AutoCAD for Mac and AutoCAD LT for Mac are supported on macOS 10.13.x (High Sierra). I believe this fails in software before any action passes down through the layers.
